Anti-Gliadin IgA and IgG ELISA Kits
Anti-Gliadin IgA Kit, 96 wells, Cat. No. 602030*
Anti-Gliadin IgG Kit, 96 wells, Cat. No. 602020*
The Biohit Anti-gliadin IgA and IgG kits are intended for the quantitative determination of human anti-gliadin IgA and IgG in serum. The tests offer a convenient non-invasive laboratory method for the sensitive screening of patients with suspected celiac disease. The negative result for the IgA test should be viewed with caution as approximately 2% of sufferers have an IgA deficiency. The monitoring of the disappearance of gliadin antibodies during gluten-free diet can be used to indicate successful elimination of gluten from the diet. The test is also useful in the screening of dermatititis herpetiformis. However, the diagnosis of celiac disease cannot be based solely on gliadin (IgA and IgG) antibodies, but intestinal biopsy specimen must always be taken to confirm the diagnosis.
Principle of the Assays
The Anti-Gliadin IgA and IgG tests are based on a sandwich enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) utilising a horseradish peroxidase conjugated detection antibody.
