- 24.11.2004 New Gastrin-17 Advanced ELISA kit
Biohit has just introduced a new version of the Gastrin-17 ELISA kit for the GastroPanel. The new Gastrin-17 Advanced ELISA method is the only fast non-radioactive kit in the market without extractions.
- Gastrin-17 results in 2.5 hours.
- The test is very easy to perform and less technical steps are needed than ever before.
- Samples are simply diluted before testing - no other pretreatment needed.
- All other reagents are ready to use, except washing buffer and conjugate need diluting.
- Since the calibrators are also redesigned, the results are not anymore multiplied by 2. Therefore Biohit provides new MS Excel Gastrin-17 Advanced templates for interpolating the unknown concentrations, automatically. The templates for single and duplicate determinations are provided.
Gastrin-17 Advanced ELISA kit (Biohit Cat. No. 601 035) will replace the older version of the Gastrin-17 ELISA kit. The older version of kit Cat. No. 601 030.01 will be available for overlapping period rest of the year 2004 and thereafter upon request. Please, inform us if you need to reserve the kits of the older version for your clients.
Gastrin-17 Advanced Elisa kit is a part of the Biohit GastroPanel. GastroPanel is a first-line diagnostic blood test for dyspeptic patients. It comprises of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits of H.pylori IgG antibodies, Pepsinogen I, Pepsinogen II, and Gastrin-17 Advanced. GastroPanel provides a reliable diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori infection and atrophic gastritis, the differential diagnosis between organic and functional dyspepsia as well as screens the risks of gastric cancer, peptic ulcer, esophageal reflux disease, and its complication, Barrett“s esophagus.
The GastroSoft interpretation of GastroPanel results are provided by the new GastroSoft MS Excel version.

The panel is intended for the diagnosis and follow-up of the treatment of celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis. It is a sensitive screening tool for patients with suspected celiac disease. The Anti-Gliadin IgA and IgG tests are intended for the determination of human anti-gliadin IgA and IgG antibodies in serum. The Anti-Transglutaminase IgA test, based on human recombinant tissue transglutaminase, is a sensitive and specific test measuring IgA celiac antibodies.
Tests available:
Cat. No. 602 020, Anti-Gliadin IgG ELISA, 96 tests
Cat. No. 602 030, Anti-Gliadin IgA ELISA, 96 tests
Cat. No. 602 040, Anti-Transglutaminase IgA ELISA, 96 testsFollowing additional tests are available at request (delivery time: 3-4 weeks):
Cat. No. 602 055, Anti-Transglutaminase IgG ELISA, 96 tests

- 9.9.2004 Gastrin-17 Stabilizer
The Gastrin-17 Stabilizer (Cat. No. 601 050) developed by Biohit is intended to prolong the stability of G-17 in EDTA plasma. The use of the stabilizer is easy - 2 drops (50 µl) of the solution is added into 1 ml of sample immediately after separation. The plasma sample can be stored at least three days in the refrigerator. The stabilizer does not interfere with Biohit Pepsinogen I, Pepsinogen II and H. Pylori ELISA measurements.
Available package sizes:Cat. No. 601 050, 1 x 5.5 ml
Cat. No. 601 051, 5 x 5.5 ml
The new Biohit Diagnostics Catalogue 2004 is now available containing detailed information on Biohit“ s innovative and high quality products for diagnostics. The diagnostics product range of Biohit comprises GastroPanel for diagnosing Helicobacter pylori infection and atrophic gastritis as well as for screening the risk of gastric cancer, peptic ulcer, esophageal reflux disease, and its complication, Barrett“s esophagus from a blood sample. Biohit also offers enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) tests for the detection of systemic lupus erythematosus, celiac disease, and inflammatory bowel disease as well as quick tests for the detection of lactose intolerance and Helicobacter pylori. Biohit develops and manufactures ELISA kits and monoclonal antibodies for cancer research.
As of 1.4.2004 each Biohit Lactose Intolerance Quick Test kit Cat.No. 602 010 contains reagents and plates for 25 tests.
Also the demonstration kit Cat.No. 602 011 is available containing reagents and plates for 2 tests.

- 1.1.2004 Lactose Intolerance Quick Test, Cat. No. 602 010
Biohit has developed a new Lactose Intolerance Quick Test for biopsy specimens. The test enables, a rapid diagnosis of hypolactasia on the basis of the biopsy specimens taken in connection with gastroscopy. The test, which is based on the Point of Care (POC) method, is a simple procedure with ready for use reagents, lasts for 20 minutes, requires no special equipment and enables easy visual interpretation.
The assay proceeds according to the following reactions:
1. In the first step the lactase enzyme in the biopsy specimen breaks down the lactose substrate, into monosaccharides, glucose and galactose.
2. In the second, signal reaction step, the amount of glucose is detected by using a chromogen solution and the signal reaction solution, resulting in the formation of a colored compound.

1.1.2004 Helicobacter pylori Quick Test, Cat. No. 602 015
The quick test developed by Biohit for detecting Helicobacter pylori infection in the stomach is based on the activity of urease enzyme in a biopsy specimen. The biopsy specimen taken from the stomach is examined immediately. The development of the color in the test gel after 1-2 minutes informs whether urease enzyme is present in the biopsy sample or not.
H. pylori contains large amount of urease, which degrades urea to ammonia (NH4+). The formed ammonia is detected by an indicator color present in the gel.
Each Biohit Helicobacter pylori Quick Test kit Cat.No. 602 015 contains plates for 50 tests. Also the demonstration kit Cat.No.602 016 is available with 2 gel containing plates.
